WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SOUL AND SUPERSOUL ?WHO IS KARATA & BHOGATA ?

Generally there is a great misunderstanding about the characteristics of the individual soul and Supersoul, or jiva-atma and param-atma. Some transcendentalists claim that the soul and Supersoul are absolutely one and the same whereas others claim them to be different. The truth, however, is that the individual soul and Supersoul are two different entities which are similar in their spiritual natures but distinct in their quantitative function. WHAT IS JIV- ATMA------- Jiva-atma, or the individual soul, refers to the living entity which is embodied in a physical form, produced by material nature. WHAT IS PARAM-ATMA?-----

08 FACTS;- 1-Param-atma refers to the Supreme Lord who expands Himself as the Supersoul and who enters into the hearts of all living entities as well as all the atoms. Thus param-atma is the localized aspect of the supreme, situated in everyone's heart as the transcendental witness. 2-LORD KRISHANA In Bhagavad-Gita;---------- "I am seated in everyone's heart as the all pervading Supersoul and from Me comes remembrance, knowledge and forgetfulness." 3- The entrance of the Supreme Lord into everyone's heart as param-atma sometimes bewilders the impersonalists, who think in terms of the equality of the living entities with the Supreme.

4-They think that because the Supreme Lord enters into different bodies along with the individual soul, there is no distinction between the Lord and the individual entities.

5-According to them, both the Supersoul and the individual soul are on the same level; they are one, without any difference between them. 6-ACCORDING TO VEDANTA PHILOSOPHY;--------- There is a difference between the Supersoul and the individual soul, and this is explained in Bhagavad-Gita, where the Lord says that although He is situated with the living entity in the same body, He is superior due to His transcendental situation. He is directing the living entity by giving knowledge and intelligence from within. 7-ACCORDING TO MUNDAKA-UPANISHAD----- Mayavadi philosophers, or impersonalists, mistake the living entity for the param-atma, who in actuality is sitting side by side with the living entity. The Supersoul acts as the neutral observer, witness, adviser, guide and friend of the individual soul.

7-1-Because the param-atma, the localised aspect of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, and the individual living entity are both within the body, a misunderstanding sometimes takes place that there is no difference between the two. But there is a definite difference between the individual soul and the Supersoul, and this is also explained in the Mundaka-Upanishad by the following example. 7-2--The individual soul and Supersoul are compared to two birds which reside in the same tree. One of them (jiva-atma) is eating the fruits of the tree, while the other (param-atma) is just witnessing the activities of his friend. The witness is the Lord, and the fruit-eater is the living entity.

7-3-The fruit-eater (living entity) which is overcome by the reaction of his enjoyment, has forgotten his real identity and is overwhelmed in the fruitive activities of the material conditions, but the Lord (param-atma), who is always transcendentally situated, is not affected by the material atmosphere.

7-4-That is the difference between the Supersoul and the conditioned soul. One should not think that the Supreme Lord becomes conditioned when He incarnates on earth or expands Himself as the Supersoul. 8-This misuse of independence is the cause of his material strife in the conditioned nature. The Lord, therefore, is giving advice and instruction from within and from without. From without He gives instructions through such Vedic scriptures as the Bhagavad-gita, and from within He acts as the Supersoul to enlighten the conditioned soul about his spiritual nature. BENEFIT OF CLEAR UNDERSTANDING;------

04 POINTS;-- 1-The intelligent person, who understands the difference between the Soul and Supersoul, can advance toward a blissful eternal life of knowledge. 2-Clear understanding of material nature, the Supersoul, the individual soul and their interrelation makes one eligible to become liberated and turn to the spiritual atmosphere without being forced to return to this material nature. This is the result of knowledge. 3-The purpose of knowledge is to understand distinctly that the living entity has by chance fallen into this material existence. By his personal endeavor in association with authorities, saintly persons and a spiritual master, he has to understand his position and then revert to spiritual consciousness or Krishna consciousness. 4- By understanding Bhagavad-gita as it is explained by the Personality of Godhead. Then it is certain that he will never come again into this material existence; he will be transferred into the spiritual world for a blissful eternal life of knowledge. WHO IS KARTA OR BHOGATA?-------

04 POINTS;-- 1- Since our Atma and Body are two different comopnents, viz:- Jeev (living) and Ajeev (non living) respectively, it is implict that the physical body cannot be the Karta or Bhogta. The physical body is a mere means of executing an action or experiencing a consequence. It is a conduit (a channel) between the external world and our Atma (Soul). 2-Given that the inherent qualities of Atma (Soul) are to see, observe and exist in the pure state without any emotions (Bhav), then how is the Atma (Soul) Karta (Doer) and Bhogta (One who bears the results of one's own actions)? 3-We always think of the 'Self' as one who does all actions and bears its consequences, On dwelling deeper, it dawned on me that the Self had to be just more than the Physical Self.

4-Since Atma only observes everything, how could it make someone feel an emotion or make one act? There had to be something in between, that made a physical body feel and act in a certain way. So is it our brain the seat of all thought and action? But then Brain is the physical part of a body, it is Ajeev, how could a Ajeev part think or act? There has to be living component that that triggers action/reaction cycle other than Atma itself. 5-Considering the hypothesis that the Atma and Karma have always co-existed together(mixed state) since time immemorial (infinite time span in the past), and they can be separated such that they are mutually exclusive of each other or cannot be combined again, lets try to deduce who is the Karta and Bhogta in simplistic way. 6-We will first need to determine the properties of Atma and Karma Pudgals (infinitely small particles). The properties of Atma based on which we will try to determine the Kartapan and Bhogtapan are listed below:- 6-1. Atma is Nithya (Eternal) 6-2. Atma is Shudh (Pure) 6-3. Atma is Jnah (Omniscient) The properties of Karma Pudgal are viz:- 1. Karma Pudgals are Ajeev 2. Karma Pudgals are sookshma (very minute) 3. Each Pudgal possess atleast four qualities, i.e smell, taste, color and touch(wet, dry, sticky etc). 7-Given that the universal space is filled with it inifinite Karma Pudgals (minute particles) in motion . Now, consider the start of time at minus infinity, the Atma (Jeev Pudgals) collide with the particles in motion, Karma Pudgals.

7-1-As a result Jeev(Atma) and Ajeev(Karma) particles are attracted to each other, just like magnet that attracts a bunch of iron filings. Depending on the impact of Karma on the Atma, the force of attraction between Atma and Karma can vary.

7-2-So think of Atma being the nucleus and karma as the electrons orbiting around the nucleus, with stronger karmas in closer orbits compared to the weaker karmas. 8-Each Karma upon maturity, comes to fruition based on the intensity and duration that it was bound to the Soul. In order to bear Karma's the soul has to manifest itself into a physical form. The physical form is determined based on the nature of Karmas. So, the soul manifests itself as the Mind and enters the physical body. So, in case of humans, Some Karma manifest to form the physical body and the Soul with a cloud of Karma particles will manifest as the Consciousness.

9-The consciousness also referred as CHID comprises of the Chith (Memory), Mann (Brain), Buddhi (Intelligence) and Ahankar (Ego).

10-In short, Consciousness = Impure Soul = Pure Soul + Karma Pudgals. For instance, white light is made up 7 different colors that appear as one color, white. This is analogus to Impure Atma or Soul that has manifested as Consciousness.

11-However the true nature of the white light, is to exist individually as the seven different wavelengths (VIBGYOR), so when it falls on a prism, it is split into seven different colors, the true form. Similarly, when all our karmas are shed, the Consciousness reverts back to its orginal state the pure Atma, hence Consciousness (Only the Jeev component, does not include Brain, Ego and Intelligence) emerges in the Pure State, Shudh Atma. 12-Therefore when we say Atma is Karta or Atma is Bhogta, it is the Consciousness that is Karta and Bhogta or the Atma with Karma Pudgals in other words. 13-IN THIS WAY WE ARE DIVIDED IN THREE FORM----THE TRIANGLE OF SRI YANTRA-------- 1-SUPRESOUL 2-SOUL & 3-JEEV--ATMA;--- THE LOWER LINE OF TRIANGLE IS JEEV--ATMA ;-CONTROLLED BY MANA (COMBO OF PURE & IMPURE CONSCIOUSNESS) representative of FOUR LOWER CHAKRAS..... 14-THERE IS NO EXISTENCE OF JEEV ATMA BUT TWO PART OF SOUL------- 01-ENLIGHTED ONE 02- IGNORANT ONE ;-WHO IS JEEV-ATMA IT IS JEEV-ATMA WHO TRAVELS FROM IMPURE TO PURE ;SOUTH POLE TO NORTH POLE- & CONVERT AS A SOUL(BINDU ) & MERGE INTO SUPERSOUL (PARAMBINDU)....SHIVOHAM.......
