त्रयम्बकं यजामहे सुगन्धिं पुष्टिवर्धनम् । उर्वारुकमिव बन्धनान् म्रुत्योर्मुक्षिय मामृतात् ॥

Om Trayambakam Yajamahe, Sugandhim Pushti Vardhanam, Urvarukmiv Bandhanat, Mrityurmokshaya Mamratat.

ORIGIN OF MANTRA;--

04 FACTS;-

1-Mahamrityunjaya Mantra is one among the oldest and most important Mantra's in Indian mythology and spirituality. This mantra belongs to Lord Shiva.

2-It is a combination of three Hindi language words i.e. ‘Maha’, which means great, ‘Mrityun’ means death and ‘Jaya’ means victory, which turns into conquer or victory over death.It is also known as ‘Rudra Mantra’ or ‘Trayambakam Mantra’.

3-The Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra is said to have been created by Rishi Markandeya. The Moon was once in trouble, cursed by King Daksha. Rishi Markandeya gave the Mahamritryunjaya Mantra to Sati, Daksha's daughter, for the Moon.

4-According to another version this is the Bija mantra as revealed to Rishi Kahola that was given by Lord Shiva to sage Sukracharya, who taught it to Rishi Dadichi, who gave it to King Kshuva, through whom it reached the Shiva Purana.

MEANING OF MANTRA;--

We concentrate on our third eye which lies behind the two eyes and this gives us the power to feel you and by this we feel happy, satisfied and peace in life. We know immortality is not possible but some extension can be given to our death by your powers Lord Shiva.

SIGNIFICANCE OF MANTRA;--

1-It is said to beneficial for mental, emotional and physical health and to be a moksha mantra, which bestows longevity and immortality. According to some puranas, the Mahamrityunjaya Mantra has been used by many Rishis as well as Sati during the time when Chandra suffered from the curse of Prajapati Daksha.

2-By reciting this mantra, the effect of the curse of Daksha, which could make him die, slowed, and Shiva then took Chandra and placed it upon his head.

3-This mantra is addressed to Lord Shiva for warding off untimely death. It is also chanted while smearing Vibhuti over various parts of the body and utilised in Japa or Homa (havan) to get desired results.

4-Whereas the Gayatri Mantra is meant for purification and spiritual guidance, the Mahamrityunjaya Mantra is meant for healing rejuvenation and nurturance.

BENEFITS;--

1-It’s a lifesaving Mantra and should be chanted with sincerity, faith and devotion. Best time to chant is early morning hours (Brahma Muhurta), around 4.00AM.

2-Make it a practice to chant minimum 9 times before you go to office or leave from the house and before going to bed or taking medicines. Make it a practice to chant at least 3 times before you start driving. Pray to Lord Shiva for a safe drive.

3-Chant 108 times daily to get good health and wealth.Make it a practice to chant once when you apply bhasma or holy ash or vibhuthi or chandan or kunkum.

4-Take a glass of water, sit facing east, pray to Lord Shiva, close the top of the glass with your right hand palm, chant the mantra for 1008 times, spray the water inside the house, take few teaspoons and give it to people. You can invoke the energy of Lord Shiva in the water by doing this.

1-Chant as many times possible sitting next to people who are ill or under pain.Regularly chant or play it in a recorder if there is a terminally ill patient around.

2-If your friends or relatives are suffering from cancer, play the mantra or chant regularly to reduce the pain. It is said that chanting of Maha Mrityunjaya generates divine vibrations that ward off all the negative and evil forces and creates a powerful protective shield.

3-Regular chanting will protect you from sudden death, accidents, famine, misfortunes of any kind, calamity and unexplained situations.

NOTE;--Maha Mrityunjaya rejuvenates, bestows health, wealth, long life, peace, prosperity and contentment.The healing and nourishing forces enter the human body through foods, medicines, supportive emotions, and encouraging thoughts. LAGHU MAHAMRITYUNJAYA JAPA -MANTRA;-;-----

There are Three LAGHU (simple) MRITYUNJAYA MANTRA;----

1. Om joom sah

2. Om hraum joom sah

3. Om Joom Sah ( name of the sick person) PaalayPaalay Sah Joom Om

1-The literal meaning of the Mantra;--

HROUM :- For realization for Lord Shiva, protection from deadly diseases, immortality, Moksh and all round success.'O Three eyed Shiva who is fragrant, bless me with health &immortality and sever (break off) me from the clutches of death."This mantra also creates a strong base for Mahamrutyunjay Sadhana.

jU;- means “to be quick” or “to impel quickly, excite, animate, or inspire”.And so,

jUM;- indicates quickening, animation, inspiration, etc. Sa;- is “air or wind”, and it invokes the puruSa or “universal soul”.

And the final visarga (aspiration) adds even more breath to this death-conquering formula.

2-MEANING :--

1-Outermost layer of the aura is in gold color, and this mantra also produces gold color.

2-This mantra is a divine protection and it protects us from evil eye. It is also called divine armor.

3-It is also good mantra for fear. Saha removes fear. It will remove even fear of death. When you go out or someone in your house goes out, you can chant this mantra and affirm “be active in the outermost layer of so and so for the next 24 hours, by giving necessary divine protection. THE KEY POINT;-
