WHAT ARE THE SPIRITUAL BENEFIT of ''SOHAM'' MEDITATION?---- In today’s world of chaotic and stressful living, where one has to (a person or thing that causes great trouble or suffering) for time and peace, meditation has become an important aspect of life to bust that stress in order to live a healthy life. Meditation is a process which helps us find the inner peace of mind and soul while learning to control our stress, pain, anger and other calamities of the mind and soul. 05 FACTS--- 1- Co-Ordination Of The Mind And Body:----- A-While we meditate, our muscles at first tend to contract. To relax the whole body, one must first learn to control the tension of the muscles and the noise of the mind to find inner peace and relaxation. B- In order to do this, one must form a bridge to wield the gap between the mind and the body, and then our nervous system comes into play. It acts as a bridge, helping the body to communicate with the mind. C-For the perfect meditation, one must first learn to regulate the nervous system, and Soham meditation is capable of teaching us how to form the bridge and regulate the nervous system. 2- Development Of Blood Circulation:-- As Soham meditation’s principles focus basically on the techniques of breathing, it develops the blood circulation in our body. This is because, as we breathe in, we take in oxygen, which is vital for the energy required by our body. It also helps to ease the pain between our muscles, and is quite effective for the ones with pain in the back and the knee section. This is because it eases the tension between the muscles. 3- Development Of Focus And Concentration:--- A-Soham meditation requires attention and systematic practices to perform. As we perform this meditation, it helps us focus and train our mind on one-pointedness, increasing our levels of concentration and focus. B-These are vital to help us perform our daily activities and work with ease and success. Practicing Soham with the nostrils aids us in this cause. This is because, focusing on the breathing helps us explore the inner energy or prana, relieves us of our stress and helps us to focus on deeper meditation. 4-Refining Mental Capabilities:--- As Soham meditation helps us to focus, we can get a clearer image of our surroundings, and with our increasing levels of concentration, it helps one to remember more, and with greater clarity. It helps one to discover his/her inner self, and in doing so, one can go about his daily chores and practices with vividness. 5- Way To A Healthy Life:--- The benefits of Soham meditation are unending. Do not speak the words, but let the silent sound perform the action. Try to find the silent sound from within. Our body plays the tunes from within; one needs to discover them in order to explore one’s true self. We should be attentive, count the mantras and lead a healthy and spiritual life with Soham mantra meditation.Once again it is reminder of nonduality for the reverse also means ‘I am He’ and that I am no different from my God. Every time you concentrate on your breath, you concentrate on this oneness. It is a powerful technique, for it helps you concentrate on the universal self. It is important to focus on the ‘soham’ or ‘hamsa’ breath ..... OM SOHAM'' MEDITATION------ A well-trained, stable, and focused mind is an asset in every sphere of life, and essential for any spiritual endeavor. The practice below will develop your concentration, clarity, and inner stability... Practice daily at about the same time, starting with 10 minutes, and gradually increasing to 20–30 minutes, or longer. STEP 01;-- Begin by training your body to be still and comfortable in a sitting posture. When the spine is erect with the pelvis, chest, and head vertically aligned, the breath becomes smooth, and the mind alert and relaxed. Sit on a chair, or cross-legged on the floor with a cushion or a folded blanket under the hips. Use enough support to lift the hip joints slightly higher than the knees. This minimizes the effort needed to keep the lower back from rounding. STEP 02;--- Close your eyes and mentally draw a circle of light around yourself. The circle separates you from the world of daily life—both the outer world of perceptions and activities, and the world of your familiar preoccupations and thinking patterns. With this intention, see yourself sitting inside this circle of light. It delineates a space in which you can contain your awareness; let it protect you from disturbances, distractions, and mental dissipation. Feel the entire body sitting comfortably still, release any unnecessary tension, and pay attention to the movement of the breath. STEP 03;--- Feel the entire body sitting comfortably still, release any unnecessary tension, and pay attention to the movement of the breath. Refine your awareness as you feel the breath become smoother and more subtle, expanding from the solar plexus into the limbs on the inhalation, and releasing back to the solar plexus on the exhalation. Be aware of the touch of the breath everywhere in the body. STEP 04;- Making sure the body and breath stay relaxed, focus your attention at each of the following energy centers, moving systematically through the body and inhaling and exhaling once at each point:------- Eyebrow center · throat center · right shoulder · right elbow · right wrist · each of the right fingertips, starting with the thumb · right wrist · right elbow · right shoulder · throat center · left shoulder · left elbow · left wrist · each of the left fingertips, starting with the thumb · left wrist · left elbow · left shoulder · throat center · heart center · navel center · center of the pelvis · pelvic floor · center of the pelvis · navel center · heart center · throat center · eyebrow center. The breath is subtle and slow, so let your concentration be fine and sensitive, becoming more and more one-pointed, and gradually drawing deeper into the mind. Rest in this awareness as long as you like. STEP 05;-- Now rest your attention at the eyebrow center. Feel the ebb and flow( to decrease and then increase, as with tides) of the breath through the inner space of the whole body, while maintaining your focus on the eyebrow center. Sense the vibration of a slow wave of breath. This vibration is the mantra so'ham (pronounced so-hum). Hear the sound so on the inhale, and the sound ham on the exhale. The breath is subtle and slow, so let your concentration be fine and sensitive, becoming more and more one-pointed, and gradually drawing deeper into the mind. Rest in this awareness as long as you like. To finish the practice, gradually return your awareness to the flow of the breath in the body, the physical presence of the body, and the space around you. Remain aware of the breath and your inner connection as you release the body from your sitting posture. You may want to open your eyes into the palms of your hands, massage your face, and stretch your arms and legs before getting up. STEP BY STEP MEDITATION ...IN BRIEF 1-Set your alarm or other time device for 10 to 20 minutes. If using a Mala do an appropriate count (for a traditional 108 bead mala its about 1 full cycle through the mala) 2-Place your hands in Gyan Mudra (Gesture of Knowledge). Which is thumb and index finger lightly meeting, wrists resting gently on the knees and palms facing upward. The other 3 fingers are extended. 3-Take 5 deep, slow breaths though the nose. This will oxygenate your blood and relax you. 4-Try to remain as still as possible. Now inhale slowly while saying the sound “Soooooooo” /OM “Soooooooo” mentally and then slowly exhale while silently saying the sound “Hummmmmm”. 5-After spending about half the time in meditation as described above, start with every cycle to feel your awareness expanding and merging with the Universe Consciousness. So as you continue to chant silently the mantra in rhythm with your breath, feel its real meaning acting upon you. WHAT IS THE PROCESS--WHEN HamSa becomes SoHam?------ 1-When the consciousness of ida and pingala are activated, the vibration of the movement of the life force produces the vibration of Ham Sa - the vibration of Ham on the right, the vibration of Sa on the left channel. 2- But when Ham Sa merges into the central nerve, it changes its nature, and becomes SoHam and they lose their identity. 3-But when consciousness is externalized, the vibration is Ham Sa. When it is internalized the same vibration is SoHam. 4-The vibration of Ham at the crown of the head, the field of universal consciousness; that vibration of So at the base of the spine. And when this is the case you feel a constant flow of throbs and vibrations. First conducting themselves along the left and right channel of Ham Sa. As they internalize they become SoHam. 5- You have to become so intimately familiar with yourself that you can tell when the consciousness is moving in the left and right channel - it has a certain feel. At just a twitch of consciousness, a twitch of will power the Ham Sa will become so SoHam and merge into the central channel. 6-When this happens all four bodies become internalized. It is an advanced condition and one that is sought after by yogis, by those trainees that are seeking to come to knowledge of themselves. . This is a very important division of attention and it's like a milestone: the ability to externalize and internalize your consciousness at will. HOW TO SWITCH OVER TWO TYPES OF CONSCIOUSNESS?---- 1-When your consciousness is externalized you know it's externalized. You want it to be externalized because you're driving your car. 2-But if you want to internalize your consciousness ,, withdraw your consciousness from the surface,,leave behind all of the elements of being,( that have to do with physicality, sense of being embodied, etc., sensory fields and sensory activity, memory)---You can draw consciousness into sushumna, the central nerve. 3-Sushumna is beyond time and space, which is to say that everything you have ever been and everything you ever will be, emerges out of sushumna. It's an unusual idea to get your head around, but when you begin to get a grasp but when you start to experience it... 4-But one of the things about meditation is we learn to do such things consciously. We seek to analyze them, why do they happen and how do they happen. And we observe what it looks like, what it feels like, in the externalized position of Ham Sa and then, what kind of bump does it take to move into a SoHam condition of complete internalization. The meditation is the ability to internalize at will. 5-Which is also why they use the term spiritual practice, its spiritual, but it's also practice. Why is it practice; because you have to practice it to get good at it. So you have to train yourself to internalize. When your consciousness internalizes - the mind stops. When the mind stops your experience of reality changes.........SHIVOHAM.......
