MEANING OF ARDHANARISHVARA;--
07 FACTS;-
1-The term "Ardhanarishvara" is a combination of three Sanskrit words: Ardha, nari, and ishvara, meaning respectively, "half," "woman," and "Lord" or "God." Thus, Ardhanarishvara means the "Lord whose half is woman," or "Lord who is half woman."
2-Some scholars translate the term to read as the more equal, "half male" and "the half female. However, this translation has largely been discounted, since it implies dvaita, or a duality of existence, which would stand in direct contradiction the Advaitic philosophy that informs much of Shaivism.
3-Additionally, some interpret the "Lord who is half woman" to suggest the inherent maleness of the divine, in accordance with the typical Shaivic advaitic view, and therefore his perpetual(constant) supremacy over the female aspect of reality. 4-Generally Shiva is referred to as the ultimate man, he is the symbolism of ultimate masculinity, but you will see in the Ardhanarishvara form of Shiva, one half of him is a fully developed woman.
5-If you look at the story of Ardhanarishvara as a symbolism of creation, then these two dimensions – Shiva and Parvati or Shiva and Shakti – are known as Purusha and Prakriti. The word “Purush” is today commonly understood as “man,” but that is not what it means. Praktriti means “nature” or “creation.” Purush is that which is the source of creation.
6-SHIVA-Ardhanarishvara is one of the most well known hypostasis of Shiva. It is the mysterious expression of his divine, androgynous, bipolar nature, in which he, in his manifestation as the Supreme Masculine, is intimately fused with his own feminine half.
7-Shiva-Ardhanarishvara is also the divine, cosmic being that exists beyond any polarity or duality, situated above all complementary aspects that exist in manifestation. MYTHOLOGICAL DESCRIPTION;- THE FIRST PURANIC STORY;- 04 FACTS;-
1-Shiva was in an ecstatic condition and because of that, Parvati was drawn to him. After Parvati did many things to woo him and sought all kinds of help, they got married. Once they were married, naturally, Shiva wanted to share whatever was his experience.
2-Parvati said, “This state that you are in within yourself, I want to experience it too. What should I do? Tell me. I am willing to do any kind of austerity.” Shiva smiled and said, “There is no need for you to do any great austerity. You just come and sit on my lap.”
3-Parvati came and with absolutely no resistance towards him, sat on his left lap. Since she was so willing, she had placed herself totally in his hands, he just pulled her in and she became half of him. 4-You need to understand, if he has to accommodate her in his own body, he has to shed half of himself. So he shed half of himself and included her.
THE SECOND PURANIC STORY;-
07 FACTS;- 1-it is often present in ancient hymns dedicated to Shiva- The wise Bringi was one of the perseverant and fervent worshippers of Shiva, but he was used to worshipping only Shiva, willfully neglecting the veneration of Shakti. Through his spiritual practice, Bringi aimed to transcend the aspects of existence and it was because of that he considered it correct only to worship Shiva.
2-He separated in his mind - Shiva-- from the manifesting feminine energy (Shakti),who is in reality inseparable and permanently part of him. 3-Excluding totally Shakti from the prayers that were offered to Shiva, Bringi abandoned, without knowing, his vital, sustaining, feminine energy, which in reality came from Shakti and which sustained him in his worship.
4-In order to give him a spiritual lesson & to remove him from this limited and foolish state, Parvati made the fanatical devotee Bringi become physically only flesh and bones. His entire feminine energy (Shakti), which he continuously rejected with an almost crazy fervor, completely left his body and caused the poor Bringi to become, in a short time, very weak and lacking almost any trace of energy.
5- So , he was no longer capable to make even the smallest movement .He continued, however, to pray stubbornly only to Shiva. Full of endless compassion, Shiva offered his fanatical devotee a stick as support. Taking it with veneration, Bringi became so attached to that stick that after a short time it became just like a third leg for him. 6-Having now this new support that was received from Shiva, Bringi continued to worship only Shiva, misunderstanding even then the meaning of this spiritual lesson to which he was submitted.
7-Then, in order to help him to understand the inseparability between Shakti and Shiva, the lover of Shiva asked her Divine Master, Shiva, to assume for his devotee Bringi an appearance in which she was one with Shiva, and which would clearly express the inseparability that exists between Shiva and Shakti. In this situation, Shiva assumed the hypostasis (essence) of Ardhanarishvara. WHAT IS THE TATTAV--THE ESSENCE OF PURANIC STORIES?-
07 FACTS;- 1-Second story points out that may be male or female- both are the origin of PRAKRITI.
2-PURUSH IS ONLY & ONLY ONE- PARAMSHIVA..THIS is the reason MAHESHWAR SAYS;- ''I AM SHAVA --- WITHOUT 'E'(Energy-Shakti).This makes clear that the form of 'Mahesh' is also given by Shakti otherwise he is ''NIRGUN BRAHAMAN' 'TO WHOM VEDAS SAY-- 'NETI---NETI'.
3-His description is possible because of PRAKRITI .In the same way all males are given birth by a female.Paramshiva is present with each & everyone as SOUL.So all human beings are ARDHNARESHWARA. Their OUTER BODY is- ""PRAKRITI ""& INNER is-SOUL ;THE PURUSH (only).
4-To maintain justice; For outer body,Prakriti provides nine births to all-- four male , four female & one spado --& this is a thumb ruling. 5-The definition of 'OM' is- ''OM SAT CHID EIKM BRAHMAN'' .. CHID means THE PURE CONSCIOUSNESS & it is the origin of AHANKAR (EGO),INTELLIGENCE, & MIND.
6-ACCORDING TO BIBLE it is written..VIZ 'The four powers of Maya are likened to four beasts:-- The Door, the fourth sphere of Maha Loka, represents the last Avidya, Illusion, of Maya, which produces the idea of the separate existence of the (lower) self, Ahankar, Ego, the son of Man. Thus Manava, being the off-spring of Maya, Ignorance, and its four powers or illusory ideas, is considered to have his source and origin in these four Ideas''.
7-IN REALITY 'HEART CHAKRA' IS GIVING THE WAY TO TENTH DOOR- THE LAST ONE OF IGNORANCE (AVIDYA);The realization of ARDHNARESHWARA -i.e.the Union of inner male female. It is the entry to fifth higher LOK.
WHAT IS THE DECODATION OF ARDHNARESHWARA?- 21 FACTS;-- 1-This is basically trying to manifest that the masculine and the feminine are equally divided within yourself. And when he included her, he became ecstatic. What is being said is that if the inner masculine and feminine meet, you are in a perpetual state of ecstasy. If you try to do it on the outside, it never lasts, and all the troubles that come with that are an ongoing drama. 2-This is a symbolism to show that if you evolve in your ultimate context, you will be half a man and half a woman – not a neuter – a full-fledged man and a full-fledged woman. That is when you are a full-blown human being. You are not skewed development, you are not just masculine or feminine, you have allowed both these things to grow. Masculine and feminine does not mean male and female. The “feminine” and “masculine” are certain qualities. Only when these two qualities happen in balance within, can a human being live a life of fulfillment. 3-Essentially, it is not two people longing to meet, it is two dimensions of life longing to meet – outside as well as inside. If you achieve it inside, the outside will happen one hundred percent by choice. If you do not achieve it inside, the outside will be a terrible compulsion. This is the way of life. This is the reality which is being expressed in a beautiful dialectal form – Shiva included her as a part of himself and became half-woman, half-man. 4-Ardhanarisvara refers to the "lord who is half woman" as opposed to a "half-man, half-woman." This phrasing suggests the inherent male nature of the deity and privileges him with the status of isvara—"god," "lord," or "master;" Parvati meanwhile, is simply "woman" (nari). It has also been noted that the left side of the body is generally thought to be subordinate to the right in Hindu doctrine and iconography.
4-1-Thus, the male right side of Ardhanarisvara gains another token of implicit privilege over the female side.Furthermore, the aforementioned concept of liberation based on union with Parasiva, towards which yogic practitioners' experience of Ardhanarisvara serves as a stepping stone, has been labeled as a male-identified variation of non-duality.
4-2-As a result, Shakti's manifestation is said to be quelled (put an end)entirely, and so she loses her ability to act, rendering her no different from Shiva, the inactive principle. Thus, at the highest level of spiritual attainment, the female half of Ardhanarisvara is subsumed (include or absorb)into its male half, which seems incongruent(not in harmony)with the notion of equality of the sexes that the deity supposedly symbolizes. 5-Since Ardhanarishvara represents the perfect synthesis of male and female forms, it also embodies the Prakriti and the Purusha, the feminine and masculine energies of the cosmos and also illustrates how Shakti, the Sacred Feminine, is inseparable from Shiva, the male principle of God. This form also symbolizes the all-pervasive, all-enduring nature of Lord SHIVA. 6-In Hindu iconography, Ardhanarisvara is depicted as half-male and half-female, split evenly down the middle upon a central axis. This Hindu deity symbolizes the inseparability of the feminine aspect of the divine with the male principle of God , and represents either the harmonious male-female essence divinity or else the ineffible genderless nature of of God beyond human distinctions. 7-However there is a much deeper significance of the Ardhnarishvara incarnation for this form signifies the interdependence of Nature and Man – Man and Woman. It is said that a Woman completes a Man. This saying does not only apply purely in a companion and physical sense but also drives home the fact that both Man (manhood representing – discrimination, single pointed goal orientation, path to righteousness, intellectual decision making) and Woman (representing sensitivity, emotions, tenderness, compassion, passion) cannot survive in singularity and both these emotions are not competing with each other but rather need each other for survival as each of these complement each other. 8-Woman represents Nature – for she has the power to create – to give birth and to sustain her creation. Hence it is said it blessed to be born as a Woman. Our Universe- Our Environment – Our Surrounding Nature – Shakti has helped create and sustain us. She provides us with Food, Resources and Shelter. 9-Man – Purush thrives on Nature – which is Fertile and provides him resources. Man in his over zealous attitude has exploited Shakti which once in a while reminds man of her exploitation through earthquakes, Tsunamis, Forest Fires etc. However Nature cannot be without Man for her purpose would be defeated. She reaps and grows by engaging man into procreation/reproduction – Creating New Technologies – New Foundations. Similarly Man cannot sustain without Nature as he is kept in activity and dynamism through Shakti – Nature. 10-Thus the form of Ardhnareshwara represents the union of Purush (Shiva) and Shakti. Both feed from each other and are merged limb to limb – inseparable – as sustenance of one without the other is not possible which is amply visible in distant planets with no life forms and only nature.
11-The solar system has planets with resources such as diamonds but they remain unappreciated because there is no observer (Purush) to appreciate the observation (Nature) and hence defeating the purpose of the to be observed natures presence. 12-“Me without You” is incomplete is the truth of life which we all are made to realize at some juncture in our life. Our life is made of several moments of impact and it is these impacts which make us what we are. They define us and ever continuously change us. Hence just as Nature does not remain constant so does Purush remain in an ever changing flux(the action of flowing) where moments of impact change the Path of our Journey – our outlook to life – our goals – our purpose. 13-It is said that those we meet during our path are our soulmates – our guides for lessons that we must learn. It is upto us to complete ourselves by correctly learning the lesson and progress ahead. Our companion (better half or spouse) is our twin who complements us in every way in life hence ensuring that together we are complete as a unit.
14-Our twin allows us to experience not only our characteristics but also experience what we lack through their eyes and observations. Hence both Manhood and Womanhood are needed to guide us to our goals – our destiny and take us towards a meaningful complete life which is one of the fundamentals of Ardhnareshwara – for God is not only man or only woman – he is all encompassing and every emotion that we feel is just one of the myriad range of feelings which emanate from him. 15-Ardhanarisvara explains a fact of biological necessity; that is, the pairing of male and female in order to create life. The hathayoga tradition attempts to put this noble idea into practice by having a yogin or yogini focus upon Shiva and Shakti as this interdependent, undivided whole.
16-With this in mind, the goal of the practitioner in the hathayoga system is to achieve sustained experience of Ardhanarisvara, thereby recognizing his or her true nature as "divine, non-dual, and androgynous. Doing so, the kundalini-Shakti can readily be drawn upward from the base on the spine to Shiva's sahasrara chakra at crown of the head.
17-Once this yogic action,THE UNION OF IDA & PINGLA; is performed, Shiva and Shakti are united, and the yogin can proceed to the final stage of liberation, identity with the supreme Parashiva, which is said to be characterized by formlessness and the absence of gender. 18-THE KEY POINT;--
THIS CONCEPT is misused by so called GURUS or we can say 'THE ONLY FLAW ' of HINDUISM which creates doubts on Tantra sadhana. We know many stories--A guru projectshimself as KRISHANA & disciple are told to become GOPI ( not Radha). 19-It is A QUESTION-
''NAME THAT VEDA, UPNISHAD, SRI GEETA OR ANY SCRIPTURE (AUTHENTIC)..MENTIONING THIS PROCESS'' .I have studied ' MAHANIRVAN TANTRA'-- THE ORIGIN SOURCE OF TANTRA ;but fail to find meshy things. When we talk of supremacy of HINDU SCRIPTURES- there is a need to wipe out meshy things--A necessity to get answer . 20-NOW THE QUESTIONS are-- 20-1-WHAT IS THE RELATION BETWEEN SHIVA & SHAKTI ? 20-2-WHAT IS THE BIOLOGICAL NEED ? 20-3-OUT OF FOUR PURUSHARTH----WHAT IS THE ROLE OF KAMA ? 20-4-WHAT IS THE MEANING OF LOWER & UPPER PART OF KAMA I.E DIFFERENCE BETWEEN .LUST & LOVE? 20-5-THE UNIONS OF SRI RADHE --KRISHANA & AADI SHAKTI--BHOLENATH ARE SAME OR NOT ? 21-To get the answers of these question ...we should know What human origin i .. what divine love is ..who KAMDEV is. (contd )
