WHAT IS SOUNDARYA LAHARI?--
09 FACTS;--
1-In Sanskrit, the word Soundarya means beauty and Lahari means wave. So, the word Soundarya Lahari literally means wave of beauty. Since the hymn is addressed to Shridevi Lalita Maha Tripura Sundari, it means wave of beauty of Shridevi. Accordingly, in the hymn Shridevi’s celestial beauty has been described from top to bottom.
2-Soundarya Lahari meaning waves of beauty consists of two parts viz. Ananda Lahari meaning waves of happiness (first 41 stanzas) and Soundarya Lahari(the next 59 stanzas). It is believed that Lord Ganesha himself has etched the Ananda Lahari on Mount Meru(Some people believe that Sage Pushpa Dhantha did the etching). It was read from there by Sage Gouda Pada who taught it to Adhi Shankara. Adhi Shankara himself added the rest of the 59 stanzas and completed it. 3-The Soundarya Lahari is not only the collections of holy hymns, but also a tantra textbook, giving instructions Puja on SRI-YANTHRA and worshipping method, 100 different hymns, 100 different yantras, almost one to each sloka; describes tantric ways of performing devotion connected to each specific sloka.
4-It is thought that prior to being incarnated into this dense, third dimensional level, on a higher dimensional level, we had to become masters of manifestation. 5-"In the bindu in the centre of the sahasraara is her transcendent abode, far above the chakra to which her Rays (or luminous manifestation of Shaktis) reach in the following combinations:---- 5-1- Fifty-six in the Moolaadhaara comprised of the element of Earth (pruthvi tattwa),
5-2-Fifty-two in the Manipoora of the essence of Water (apa tattwa),
5-3-Sixty-two in the Swadhishtaana of the element of Fire (agni tattwa),
5-4-Fifty-two in the anaahatha of the character of Air (vaayu tattwa),
5-5-Seventy-two rays in the vishuddhi of the form of Ether (akaasha tattwa)
5-6-Sixty-four in the agna which partakes of the character of mind (manasa tattwa).

6- The yin and yang factor (feminine and masculine factor) is balanced. Treats hormonal imbalance.Shiva becomes capable of creating the Universe, only when united with Shakti , but otherwise , He is incapable of even a stir.
7-The Supreme Mother Goddess, who is the life-energy force enters the body through the Moolaadhaara chakra to raise up,activating chakras and purifying the entire body frame. 8-The angles of her abode (the Srichakra) which is made up of the nine moolaprakrithis or basic triangles ( the nine primary causative forces of the Universe) consisting of the four distinct Shiva triangles (with apex upwards) kept apart from the former by the bindu, with the eight-petalled lotus, the lotus of sixteen petals with the three circles around and the three lines, are counted as forty-four triangles."
9-In a nutshell, the shloka says a bhakta of Devi gets prosperity now while living and also attains moksha on his death. In the height of devotion, saints like Adi Shankara sing - it may sound like exaggerated praise for some, but when you are in such a state of devotion, it feels perfectly natural and true. HOW CAN WE MEDITATE ON SRI YANTRA?...
14 FACTS;- NOTE-Manifestation should only be carried out to achieve the HIGHEST GOOD in all cases . 1-First of all make your Aura of sri chakra in 10 Directions & focus in three centres;-
1-Crown chakra
2- Heart chakra
3- Root chakra. The first Sri Yantra is Shakti triangle ...you are sitting over the Bindu. This Bindu IS CONJOINING the Bindu of second Sri yantra at heart & the BINDU of third sri yantra over your head (Shiv triangle). you have to see this imaginary pipe of Sushmna Nadi holding three layers(1-VAJRA 2-CHITRA 3-BRAHMAN) 2-Check your Aasan otherwise you can't focus on three centres (vertical). 3- Take care for Mudra .Choose which one comfortable for you. 4- Position the yantra so its centre is at eye level and a comfortable distance away. Sit with your spine straight. Breathe in and out slowly until your breath flows naturally.Hold your breath (SAHAJ KUMBHAK ) to reach Sushmna. 5-Begin with your eyes open, simply gazing at the yantra. Look at the center or ‘dot’ which represents the unity that underlies all the diversity of the physical world. The key is to maintain a receptive, alert frame of mind, without drawing any conclusions, and free of concepts or thoughts. As you feel yourself gathering consciousness, allow yourself to flow with the momentum of this consciousness. 6- Now allow your eyes to see the triangle that encloses the bindu. The downward pointing triangle represents the feminine creative power, while the upward facing triangle represents male energy. 3. Allow your vision to expand to include the circles outside of the triangles. They represent the cycles of cosmic rhythms. The image of the circle embodies the notion that time has no beginning and no end. 7- Bring your awareness to lotus petals outside the circle. Notice that they are pointing outwards, as if opening. They illustrate the unfolding of our understanding. 8- The square at the outside of the yantra represents the material world that our senses show us and the illusion of separateness via the well defined edges and boundaries. At the periphery of the figure are four T-shaped portals, or gateways. Notice that they point toward the interior of the yantra, the inner spaces of life. They represent our earthly passage from the external and material to the internal and sacred. 9-When your awareness begins to shift inward, close your eyes. Now watch the yantra imprinted in your mind’s eye, allowing it to gradually guide you within. 10-Do nothing, and you will find yourself participating in pure consciousness without the mind defining it.You don’t need to stare at the yantra beyond a comfortable amount of time; five to 15 minutes is perfect. And now go through the process of evolution and involution. 11-After you have gazed at the yantra for a few minutes, gently close your eyes for between five and 25 minutes, and let the yantra unfold in your mind’s eye. This practice of letting the yantra unfold within you is a powerful part of the meditation, as the stored geometric images drift you back and forth between DOing and BEing.
12-The patterns of creativity represented by these primordial shapes express the fundamental forces of nature that flow through existence and through you. When you are done with both parts of the meditation, feel free to just sit and slowly let the subtle nature of what you just experienced ripple through your thoughts, your being, and your breath.
13-Notice how you feel. Notice the volume and the activity levels of the world around you and then become aware of the world within you. Just witness yourself through the whole process. And breathe. 14-Remember to be gentle with yourself, and take a few minutes to sit quietly before you resume physical activity. The trancelike effect of the Sri Yantra Meditation can carry over into the next few hours of your day, so make sure not to drive or operate heavy equipment immediately following this or any form of meditation. THE LEGEND OF SOUNDARYA LAHARI;--
05 FACTS;- 1-One of the most popular stories, goes like this. Once Shri Shankara Bhagavatpadah visited Kailasa, the abode of Lord Shiva. He saw Soundarya Lahari stotra written on the wall. He started reading. Lord Ganesha observed it and started rubbing the shlokas from the bottom. 2-Ultimately, Shri Shankara could read and memorize only 41 shlokas. He went and complained to Lord Shiva. The Lord said that Soundarya Lahari is one of the secret and most powerful hymns. So, it cannot be shared as a whole in the human world. He suggested Shri Shankara Bhagavatpadah to compose the rest of the 59 shlokas to make up to 100 shlokas. 3-Other version of the legend says that Lord Shiva himself gave the manuscript of Soundarya Lahari to Shri Shankara Bhagavatpadah during his visit to Lord’s abode, i.e. Kailasha. When Bhagavatpadah was coming out, the guard Nandi snatched a part (containing 42-100 shlokas) of the manuscript from Bhagavatpadah. 4-When Bhagavatpadah reported this incident to Lord Shiva, he smiled and said that the hymn is extremely powerful. So, it cannot be given in its entirety. The Lord asked Bhagavatpadah to compose the rest of the shlokas of the hymn. 5-Two things are common and certain from the above discussion. Soundarya Lahari is a very powerful and secretive hymn of divine origin. Our Great Master Shri Shankara Bhagavatpadah is the Seer and partly the author of Soundarya Lahari.
