12 FACTS ABOUT THE DECODATION OF SHIVA'S ATTRIBUTES;-
1-SYMBOLISM BEHIND THE FORM OF SHIVA;--
04 FACTS;--
1-Shiva is said to embody Tamas, the energy of inertia and the tendency towards dispersion and annihilation. However, it can be said that Shiva actually causes creation because, without the destruction of the old cycle, a new cycle of creation (transformation) cannot occur.
2-The name Shiva literally means "auspiciousness." The universe is said "to sleep" in Lord Shiva after destruction and before the next cycle of creation. Shiva is also known as Mahadeva (God in the highest) or Mahayogin (patron of all yogis). He represents the ideal of supreme renunciation born of divine realization.
3-Shiva is usually depicted with long, matted hair and the lifegiving sacred river Ganga (Ganges) spouting out of the top of his head. His skin is blue and cobras are coiled around his neck and arms. His crown is the crescent moon and his garment is of tiger and elephant skin. A garland of human skulls and serpents adorns his body. He is usually seen holding a trident, often with an attached drum and/or cobra entwined on the prongs.
4-When Shiva's palms are visible, the Sanskrit symbol OM is seen inscribed upon them.
An important Hindu symbol associated with Shiva is the Shivalingam, an oval-shaped object which represents both the formed and formless aspects of Lord Shiva-with the oval shape representing form, and the absence of arms and legs symbolizing the formless.

3-The darmru is also a symbol of sound. Sound is rhythm and sound is energy. The whole universe is nothing but a wave function, it is nothing but rhythms. What does quantum physics say? It says the same thing – the whole universe is nothing but rhythms.
