NEED OF BALANCE;-

1-Life is about balance. The atom, which is the fundamental building block of all matter always strives towards balance of positive (proton) and negative (electron) charges. If it cannot maintain balance within its own structure, it forms clusters that maintain balance with other atoms and molecules are formed. The point being, that even at the most fundamental level, the universe seeks to maintain balance.

2-Nature’s endless dance is all about maintaining balance in the natural ecosystem and in the species present on the planet. Why should humans be exempt from this grand cosmic interplay? Of course, we are not, but we do let ourselves get further out of balance than is healthy at times. In these instances, we would be wise to bring ourselves back into harmony by identifying those areas which are becoming polarized.

SHAKTI /SHIVA ; FEMALE/MALE OR YIN /YANG ENERGY;-

The Yang energy is also called the male energy and is associated with the sun. Yin energy is called the feminine energy and is associated with the moon, darkness and passiveness. Yin (black) and Yang (white) need each other to exist. Without sun no moon, without a woman no man, without effort no relaxation.

WHAT IS SHAKTI/SHIVA YIN /YIN YOGA?-

02 FACTS;-

1-In the practice you find the edge of the posture. Once you’ve reached that point where you feel the stretch, but you can still relax, you draw the attention inwards and surrender to the silence and try to relax consciously.Yin yoga also comes from the Taoist tradition.

2-In Shakti / Yin yoga you stay in the posture between 3-5 minutes. It is often referred to the meridians (energy centers) in the body. Due to the breath and relaxation, the meridians are opened or blockades can be lifted so that the chi (life energy) can flow better. The Yin energy is associated with cold, therefore it has has a cooling and refreshing effect on the body.

THE EFFECTS;-

03 FACTS;-

Like any form of yoga, Yin yoga also has effect on the physical and mental level:--

1-Relaxation: by holding the pose longer and passively, the body can relax deeply. The breath can flow more freely and the body is able to release.

2-Flexibility: by relaxing the muscles consciously, the connective tissue and the edges around the joints slowly expand and become more agile (Able to move quickly). This increases the flexibility. The body adapts to the posture naturally and space is created. This is done by using the breath instead of the muscle force. Gravity is given the opportunity to do it’s work.

3-Breathe: When the body relaxes, the breath relaxes. By returning to the natural breath that originates from the belly, the body relaxes completely. By relaxing the body, the mind relaxes and the ultimate goal of yoga can be achieved: “calming the waves of the mind” It means in Sanskrit: chitta vritti nirodha.

BENEFITS;-

08 POINTS;-

1-Stimulates the meridians (energy channels) bringing balance in the body.

2-Improves flexibility and joint mobility.

3-Reduces stress and anxiety.

4-Can prepare the practitioner for meditation practice

5-Strengthens and tones the body.

6-Increases stamina

7-Calms the mind down by inviting us to synchronise movement with breath

8-Removes tension and obstacles in the body to allow breath and prana to flow

HOW TO BALANCE SHAKTI /SHIVA OR YIN /YANG ENERGY?

1-Stress and illness are nature’s way of telling you that you’re out of balance. All life is ruled by the interplay of two dynamic forces known in traditional Chinese medicine as yin and yang.

2-Yin is negative, yang positive. Yin is feminine, yang masculine. Yin is passive, yang active. They’re opposite yet complementary forces, never equal, but cycle together in harmony. One is always ascending while the other descends. The yin/yang symbol is a wonderful expression of this interplay. Even though they’re opposite, yin and yang can’t exist independently.

3-When the yin and yang of your body are in disharmony, it’s like trying to ride a unicycle with the spokes of the wheel short on one side and long on the other. The hub is out of center and your ride is very bumpy/Uneven,. If you continue for long, you’ll break the wheel and perhaps the bike. Just so, if your body continues in disharmony for long, illness occurs.

SOME ASPECTS OF YIN & YANG;-

Yin:------------------Yang:

feminine------masculine

negative--------positive

passive-----------active

inward-----------outward

downward-----upward

soft----------------hard

cold------------------hot

dark---------------light

inner organs---outer organs

back---------------------front

bottom--------------------top

YIN & YANG BALANCE;--

1-A good example of how this works is caregivers—those people who give of themselves to nurture, nourish, guide and heal others. Teachers, counselors, social workers, nurses, body workers and parents are all caregivers. When caregivers are living harmoniously, they balance giving (yang) and receiving (yin) so they don’t deplete their reserves.

2-They know when they’re in need of care and allow themselves time to receive to balance their giving. However, many caregivers ignore their own needs until they’ve given so much of themselves that body and soul begin to cry out, “What about me?” The imbalance begins to affect their health, sleep, emotions, focus and relationships.

3-The cure is simple in this case. Balance can be re-established by receiving what was given in excess. Take the time to nourish yourself, to nurture yourself. There are many ways to find your way back to balance. You may find that one method works best for you or you may find that you need a little of various methods. Here are a few suggestions on how to begin:----

1-Reach out to nature – take a walk and absorb the qi of nature into yourself with every breath.

2-Nutrition – take time to eat health foods instead of grazing on empty junk.

3-Water – plenty of pure, clean water will help flush out toxins and rehydrate you. Most people underestimate their need for water.

4-Meditation – employ some quality quiet time to get in touch with yourself .

5-Realize where you’ve become deficient and work to correct the deficiency.

6-Bodywork – focused attention from a body worker allows guilt-free relaxation and releases the physical manifestations of stress.

These practitioners specialize in recognizing the many faces of disharmony and balancing the qi of the body.
