THE MYSTERIOUS SRI YANTRA;-

14 FACTS;- 1-Sri Yantra is a complex sacred geometry which has been used for thousands of years. The origin of this beautiful yantra is unknown but it is considered as the mother of all other yantras.Yantra in ancient hindu science is a machine which can ease out or speed up any work. Sri yantra is worshiped and meditated on for many centuries now. It is very difficult to actually find the exact science behind it as there are still many researches going on over it. Today we will try to explore some possibilities of this mystic yantra. 2-The importance of sri yantra can be identified by the earth scraping of the geometry that appeared in a remote dry lake bed in OREGON, near the Idaho border. It was a major headline in 1990’s;which was considered to be made by aliens landed from an UFO. 3-The image scraped on earth was so big that it was not possible for humans to make. Researchers, Don Newman and Alan Decker visited the site and reported the image ..about 3” deep and the area was missing any signs of tyre tracks or footprints even though their own tyres made ¼” deep marks on the crusty surface of the dry lake bed.That’s still a mystery, May be some species from another planet wanted to communicate with us through sri yantra. 4-Sri yantra originated in India and is composed of nine interlocking triangles. Every triangle is connected to each other by common points. A slight change in the size or position of one triangle can change the entire proportion of the whole geometry and that is the reason that sri yantra is very difficult to draw correctly. All the nine triangles are cantered around one point and the whole yantra is a superimposition of five downward triangles and four upright triangles with total of 43 small triangles, each having a presiding energy or god associated with particular aspect of life. 5-Sri yantra, also known as Sri Chakra, is called the mother of all yantras because all other yantras derive from it. In its three dimensional forms Sri Yantra is said to represent Mount Meru, the cosmic mountain at the center of the universe.Mount Kailash .. many religions and cultures consider Mount Kailas as the axis of existence. If we have a look at the 3d shape sri yantra ;It is similar to mount kailash, the cosmic mountain at the centre of the universe. Sri yantra is a tool for ultimate realisation of totality of the existence. If Mount kailash represents sri yantra then this can be a reason why shiva always used to meditate on this mountain and Dashanan or Ravan wanted to take kailash along with him to Lanka. 6-Vedas mentioned Mount Kailash as cosmic axis and world pillar, center of the world, and world tree. It has other names...Meru, Sumeru, Sushumna, Hemadri, Deva Parvata, Gana Parvata, Rajatadri, and Ratnasanu. In religion or mythology, the world center or the connection is between Heaven and Earth. As the celestial pole and geographic pole, it expresses a point of connection between sky and earth where the four compass directions meet. 7-Sri yantra is an extremely powerful yantra and is conceived as the cosmos at the macrocosmic level and micro cosmic levels. If we look at the image, from a macrocosmic perspective, it represents big bang theory. In which the existence starts from a big blast from nothingness and kept on expanding. 8-As we know the universe is still expanding and there may come one day when it will reverse and get back to the same nothingness. On a micro cosmic level,we can compare sri yantra to the foetus in mother’s womb which keeps on multiplying from single cell to multicells. 9-If we observe carefully, both the theories are about multiplication of existence and so is sri yantra. May be that is the reason that our Vedas suggest that the whole universe is within us because the theory of creation remains the same. 10-People worship and meditate on sri ratna and believe that this powerful and mystic geometry keeps harmony and balance in life and spaces around it. It breaks all the obstacles and pushes easily the limits of both spiritual and materialistic growth. 11- It is the source of attaining all worldly desires and fulfilling all wishes through inner cosmic powers since ancient age but over time people tend to simplify things and the original intent in the process is lost. There are now many distorted versions of sri yantra. We can’t even call them sri yantra as they fail to fullfill the basic criteria which requires the apex of all the triangles to be connected to the base of another triangles. 12-The goal of contemplating the Sri Yantra is that the adept can rediscover his primordial sources. The circuits symbolically indicate the successive phases in the process of becoming. The Sri Yantra is conceived as a place of spiritual pilgrimage. It is a representation of the cosmos at the macrocosmic level and of the human body at the microcosmic level (each of the circuits correspond to a chakra of the body). 13-Man’s spiritual journey from the stage of material existence to ultimate enlightenment is mapped on the Sri Yantra. The spiritual journey is taken as a pilgrimage in which every step is an ascent to the center, a movement beyond one’s limited existence, and every level is nearer to the goal. Such a journey is mapped in stages, and each of these stages corresponds with one of the circuits of which the Sri Yantra is composed from the outer plane to the bindu in the center. 14-The Sri Yantra is a tool to give a vision of the totality of existence, so that the adept may internalize its symbols for the ultimate realization of his unity with the cosmos. WHAT IS THE CONCEPT OF YIN -YANG PHILOSOPHY?-

07 FACTS;- 1-The concept of Prakriti and Purusha in other religions is Yin and Yang philosophy. Just like the Indian Ardhanarishvara and the Greek Hermes, Yin and Yang are apparently two completely opposing forces that come together to produce harmony in this world. 2-The Yin Yang symbol is truly remarkable and shows clearly the relationship between Prakriti and Purusha as Hinduism knows it. This symbol is represented by two equal halves of a circle. The dark side of the circle is the Yin and it represents night. The bright or white part, the Yang, is the day. Just as day and night flow from each other in a continuous stream, the Yin and the Yang melt effortlessly into each other and are inseparably entwined. There is also a small Yin circle in Yang and vice-versa. This symbolizes that each of them is never completely on their own. 3-The female energy here is Yin and the male energy is Yang. Further, the Yin is always much softer than the Yang, which is hard and rough. The Yin goes backwards, while the Yang progresses forwards. When each one's energy is channeled properly, it can result in great good, peace, progress and harmony. Hence, the Yin Yang symbol actually represents the full circle of life, with all its aspects. 4- The word Yin comes out to mean “shady side” and Yang “sunny side”. Two halves that together complete wholeness. Yin and yang are also the starting point for change. When something is whole, by definition it is unchanging and complete. So when you split something into two halves – yin / yang, it upsets the equilibrium of wholeness. This starts both halves chasing after each other as they seek a new balance with each other. 5-Yin Yang is the concept of duality forming a whole. We encounter examples of Yin and Yang every day. As examples: night (Yin) and day (Yang), female (Yin) and male (Yang). Over thousands of years quite a bit has been sorted and grouped under various Yin Yang classification systems. 6-When we dive deeper into Yin Yang;-When people see things as beautiful,ugliness is created.When people see things as good,evil is created.Being and non-being produce each other. Difficult and easy complement each other.Long and short define each other.High and low oppose each other.Fore and after follow each other. 7-Basic Concepts Defining the Nature of Yin Yang is ;- A-Neither Yin nor Yang are absolute;- Nothing is completely Yin or completely Yang. Each aspect contains the beginning point for the other aspect. For example: day becomes night and then night becomes day…Yin and Yang are interdependent upon each other so that the definition of one requires the definition for the other to be complete. B-Yin Yang is not static;- The nature of Yin and Yang flows and changes with time. A simple example is thinking about how the day gradually flows into night. However, the length of day and night are changing. As the earth ages, its spin is slowing causing the length of day and night to get longer. Day and night are not static entities.Sometimes changes in the relationship between Yin and Yang can be dramatic where one aspect can literally just transform into the other. As an example: some species of fish have females that transform quickly into males when the population of males aren’t enough. C-The summation(the act or process of forming a sum/ addition/ total ) of Yin and Yang form a whole.One effect of this is: as one aspect increases the other decreases to maintain overall balance of the whole.

IS SRI YANTRA ,THE ABSOLUTE SYMBOL OF PRAKRITI & PURUSHA?-

07 FACTS;- 1-The Rig Veda propounds a beautiful explanation for this concept of Ardhanarishvara. It says that in Aadikaala (at the very beginning), there was only One non-manifest power. This power lived without breath, without emotion and without thought. In other words, there was naught (nil) beyond the One. Darkness and inconscience reigned. 2-Then the Universal Power generated its own energy, giving rise to the Supreme One, who then gave rise to the entire with a mere thought, emanating from its Mind. This One Being felt the desire to become many. This is where the phrase, "Ekoham Bahusyami", comes to be. This means, "That which I only am, shall manifest as many." This was the desire of the Power to emanate forth in the form of Shakti, creating a multitude, and also to emanate as Shiva, to witness that multitude in action! 3-The Yogini Hridaya states, "When the Supreme Shakti of Her own will takes the form of the universe and looks at Her own throb, then the Chakra (Sri Chakra) comes into being." This creates the two completely opposite, yet complementary, forces of Shakti and Shiva as Prakriti and Purusha respectively.

4-Here, Shiva is the Transcendent One, the Satchitananda, who merely observes and is unmoved by events occurring in creation. Shakti, on the other hand, does not depend on him to perform her functions, but she needs his power to sustain and maintain her creation. So though Shakti is not co-existent with the Purusha, that is, Shiva, she requires his presence to keep the cosmos functioning smoothly. 5-In the case of Shiva, though he wields unlimited power, he cannot create the universe without the Eternal Life Force of Shakti to back him. Therefore, the concept of Ardhanarishvara clearly brings out the fact that Prakriti (Shakti) and Purusha (Shiva) are nothing without each other and one cannot exist and function in the absence of the other. It also shows that the male is as much female as the female is male... This means that masculinity and femininity are merely attributes working to create the entire bigger picture of the world. 6-WHAT IS THE MEDICAL INDICATION OF ARDHANARISHVARA?-

The most interesting fact about the study of the Prakriti-Purusha symbolism of dualities existing with each other in order to create perfect harmony; is the actual medical indication of the same in all our bodies. All men and women have cross elements of the opposite sex in them. The hormone, Testosterone, which is a predominantly male hormone, is also found in moderate quantities in women. Conversely, the female hormone, Estrogen, is also present in a small quantity in men. This in itself is the evidence that a little of both sexes are present in all of us. This is absolutely necessary, as it maintains each one's personality traits and balances and harmonizes the environment as a whole. 7-The iconographical embodiment of Ardhanarishvara in sri yantra is indeed the absolute symbol that best describes the concept of the co-existence of the dual forces of Prakriti and Purusha. The beautifully created anthropomorphic (having human characteristics) imagery of Shakti and Shiva blending as One Being fully explains the paradox of complete oneness existing in this duality. The Devi, who is depicted on the left side of the Ardhanarishvara provides the Lord on the right side with the power and energy to sustain the world she creates with her own infinite powers. Together, they go about the functions of creation, protection, sustenance and destruction of the material world. IN NUTSHELL, it is a mystic sacred geometric pattern which represent the cosmos metaphysically or symbolically given by ancient vidyas from macrocosmos spaces to human body levels.It is to be understood here that the concept of Ardhanarishvara is not merely a combination of the male and female genders. It actually exists in order to educate the Sadhak about non-duality and teaches him to break free from the vicious cycles of base human emotions, biases and other common follies and foibles(defect).
