WHAT IS THE IMPORTANCE OF TRANSCENDENTAL MEDITATION TECHNIQUE?IS THERE SOME DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MINDF

WHAT IS THE TM TECHNIQUE?- 09 FACTS;- 1-In brief and contrary to what the name itself might suggest the Transcendental Meditation technique is a very simple, natural and effortless way of letting our mind settle down into an extremely calm and wise state of rest. 2-Best effects are produced with regular practice of two times minimum twenty minutes a day.TM refers to a specific form of silent mantra meditation called the Transcendental Meditation technique, and less commonly to the organizations that constitute the Transcendental Meditation movement. 3-Its an ancient Vedantic technique. Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, the great teacher from India who introduced the TM technique to the wider world,in the mid-1950s 4-Though TM is not a mantra-based meditation in the sense that its main core and direction is oriented towards transcending, it does involve use of mantras.Mantra is a specific thought, a suitable sound which suits us . 5-By using this mantra, the practitioner experiences the thought of that sound and starts minimizing that thought to experience the finer states of that thought – until the source of thought is fathomed/grasped and the conscious mind reaches the transcendental area of being . 6-When we repeat the mantra, one of three things happen in the mind, 6-1. Your mind is full of thoughts 6-2. Your mind is with thoughts and mantra in the background 6-3. Your mind is repeating the mantra and it becomes subtle and subtle. 7-If situation no. 3 happens, the mind is supposed to have reached a state of transcendence which is beyond the levels of conscious mind, 8-Neurologicaly, TM will result in a high level of alpha wave activity in the brain.TM is the only technique which will help you contact being. 9-Another peculiar feature of the TM technique is that there is no difference between brainwaves of experts and beginners ..one masters it quickly. In fact, the positive effects of practice are usually apparent already from the very first day of TM . THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MINDFULNESS &TRANSCENDENTAL MEDITATION;- 09 FACTS;- 1-These two approaches to meditation come from different traditions, are practiced in a different manner, have different effects on the brain, and are different in the way they're learned. 2-Transcendental Meditation comes from the Vedic tradition and was brought to the West by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. Mindfulness comes from the Buddhist tradition, and was popularized in the West by Jon Kabat-Zinn. 3-Transcendental Meditation is described as a simple, natural, effortless meditation technique that doesn't involve contemplation or concentration. One uses a mantra as a vehicle to let the mind settle down naturally and, ultimately, to transcend thought. 4-Mindfulness meditation involves training one's mind to be in the present moment. It typically involves passive attention to one's breathing, sensations, and thoughts during meditation, sometimes referred to generically(with reference to genus) as open monitoring. 5-In this regard, the main difference between the two is that the goal of mindfulness meditation is to have one's thoughts be on the present moment, whereas with Transcendental Meditation, the process involves transcending thought itself and experiencing a state "pure awareness," in which one is aware but without an object of thought. 6-These differing approaches to meditation, and differing subjective experiences during meditation, are clearly reflected in the contrasting neuro-physiological states associated with each practice. Transcendental Meditation has been found to activate the brain's default mode network, which is a natural resting state of the brain. Mindfulness meditation deactivates the default mode network. 7-In addition, the EEG signatures or brain wave patterns associated with each practice are also different. Transcendental Meditation is typified by alpha brain waves, and mindfulness meditation by theta brain waves. Alpha is associated with relaxation while theta is associated with a readiness to process incoming signals. 8- The ultimate results of each technique also differ. With TM, long-term practice can result in a state of cosmic consciousness, in which the experience of transcendence is always present in one's awareness, even during activity. One comes to experience one's self as universal and omnipresent. One's identity shifts from the individual to the cosmic. With mindfulness, the ultimate result is to always be in the present moment, with greater clarity and focus. 9-Interestingly, one randomized controlled trial found that even though the purpose of TM isn't to cultivate the experience of the present moment that mindfulness meditation strives for. Those who practiced TM ,increased in this experience after three months of practice. HOW TO PERFORM TM BY OURSELF?- 02 FACTS;- 1-Here is a technique of how you can perform transcendental meditation by yourself. Traditionally it is recommended to learn as a Sadhak with a guide or with a qualified teacher. One of the advantages of receiving formal instruction is that you will be provided with your own personal mantra. 2-However, the standard TM mantras are not all that secret. We can make use of BEEJ MANTRAS also. In the early 1960’s, only two mantras were used in the Transcendental Meditation practice. Men used “Ram” and women used “Shiriram "but 'OMKAR' is the best one for all..” HOW TO PREPARE? 05 FACTS;- 1-With so many benefits, the greatness of Transcendental Meditation cannot be overstated, but the most delightful thing about Transcendental Meditation is that it is not difficult at all to practise; it is very, very easy. The reason is that ; it is completely natural. 2-A person needs only one ability in order to learn the Transcendental Meditation Technique—the ability to think a thought &.. Step 1:- Get a vision of possibilities for personal development. Step 2:- Know about the mechanics, uniqueness, and origin of the Transcendental Meditation Technique. Step 3:- After this, one only needs about 15 to 20 minutes of the Transcendental Meditation Technique in the morning and evening. 3-Periodic verification of experience is encouraged to ensure that maximum results are being gained at all times.Anyone who can think a thought can begin to experience finer and finer levels of thinking, until he experiences the source of thought, the field of pure Creative Intelligence. 4-All we need to do is to learn to take the correct angle to dive within, and diving will be automatic due to the natural tendency of the mind to move to a field of greater happiness. 5-Transcendental Meditation should be practiced.. twice daily & empty stomach, before breakfast and dinner.Below is Transcendental Meditation steps to follow... EXERCISE ONE To engage in Transcendental Meditation close your eyes and sit silently in a quite place while repeating a mantra. FIVE STEPS;- Step 1: Close your eyes, wait a few seconds, and then start thinking the mantra. It is thought repeatedly only in the beginning of meditation. Step 2: After a while you should “let it go” and “allow the mantra to change in any way it wants”. Whether it gets louder or softer, faster or slower down, clearer or fainter, we just take it as it comes. Its is more of a “hearing” of the mantra than repeating it, and that is why this technique is“effortless”. Step 3: Allow thoughts to come and go along with the mantra. There is no attempt to push thoughts out of our mind or use the mantra to override them. Step 4: When the mantra disappears and the mind goes off on thoughts we quietly come back to it. This means that all we have to do is become (aware) that we are no longer hearing the mantra and the awareness of that will be quite sufficient to bring the mantra back to us. Step 5: At the end of meditation stop thinking the mantra and wait about 2 minutes before opening the eyes. EXERCISE TWO FIVE STEPS;- Step 1: Sit in a comfortable position. It is not necessary to sit in a cross-legged lotus position, unless you want to. Step 2: You can take 3 deep breath, , close your eyes . Keep breathing slowly and allow your body to become more and more relaxed. Step 3: Close your eyes and slowly repeat the mantra in your mind, without verbalizing it (roll up your tongue, if you find that you are doing so) Step 4: When you speak the mantra in your mind you should feel it rather than concentrate on the word itself. Step 5: Continue to repeat your mantra for about twenty minutes. While you are doing so allow yourself to feel your closeness and oneness with the universe. THE SIX KEY POINTS;- 1-When you meditate, you will find that your mind will undergo 4 mental states interchangeably, not necessarily in the same sequence 1-1- Solely mantra; 1-2 -Solely thought; 1-3 -Mantra and thought coexisting; 1-4 -Neither mantra or thought. 2-It is very unlikely for beginners to experience the 4th mental state, i.e. neither mantra or thought, in your first few attempts. When you do experience it,-Rejoice. 3-Even if you do not experience the 4th mental state, it’s still OK. The 4th mental state cannot be achieved by conscious effort but through regular meditation. The important thing is that you should not hold on to the mantra, while meditating. If you do so, that would be the only mental state that you’ll experience in the entire meditation session. You should repeat the mantra mentally, without focusing on it. 4-What happen If my mind wanders and is only filled with thoughts, As long as you are not aware that you’re thinking, it’s okay. But as soon as you become aware, you should slowly start all over again with your mantra. 5-And what if I realize that I’ve thoughts and the mantra coexisting in my mind? It’s the same. Eliminate any thoughts from your mind and start with the mantra all over again. Conversely, if you realize that your mind is repeating the mantra for too long, it obviously means that you are holding on to your mantra. Stop focusing on it, and let it fade, so that your mind can experience at least the first 3 mental states interchangeably. 6-Every mental state is part of the Transcendental Meditation technique, so there is no right or wrong mental state. Point is that you must allow the mental states to interchange, otherwise you will never experience the 4th mental state of neither thoughts nor mantra. ....SHIVOHAM....
