THE HIDDEN MYSTERY OF THE NAME OF RAMA;--
36 FACTS ;---
1-The Gita, Vedas and the rest are all included in this single couplet from the Ramayana:'The Vedas, Puranas and all saints agree that one should abandon all desires and meditate on the Holy Name.' ' 2-The Ramayana deals with every possible aspect of human life from the prenatal stage to after death. Rama displayed ideal behaviour in all stages of his life.-Ramcharitmanas, which is the story of Rama (Ramayana) according to the sage Tulsidas.
3-There are several places in the first chapter, the Balakanda, where Tulsidas explains the mystical power of the name of Rama. For instance, he says: “I greet the name ‘Rama’ of the chief of Raghus, which is composed of seed-letters representing the sun-god, fire-god, and moon-god. (i.e. Ra, A, Ma respectively).” 4-In the footnote it explains that every letter/sound of the Sanskrit alphabet is a bija or seed mantra that invokes a quality of the divine (diety). When you break down the name of Rama there are two syllables, but three bija mantras: ‘Ra’, ‘A’, and ‘Ma’.
5-‘Ra’ represents the Sun, ‘A’ represents Agni or fire, and ‘Ma’represents the Moon. Since the three sources of light on earth come from the Sun, fire, and the Moon, repeating the name of Rama is a method for invoking light, the supreme light of God. Of course, God is often described as light. 6-Here are a few more quotes indicating this luminous aspect of the name of Rama from the Ramcharitmanas:--- 6-1-“Sri Rama, who is Truth, Consciousness, and Bliss combined (Sat-Chit-Ananda) is like the sun; the night of ignorance cannot subsist in Him even to the smallest degree. He is the Lord whose very being is light.” 6-2-“Install the luminous gem in the shape of the divine name ‘Rama’ on the threshold of the tongue at the doorway of your mouth if you would have light both inside and outside, O Tulasidasa.” 6-3-“His Name puts on end to the devotee’s vain hopes along with his errors and sorrows even as the Sun terminates the night.” 6-4---Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare These sixteen names (words) are destructive of the evil effects of MAYA.. These sixteen names destroy the Avarana (or the centripetal force which produces the sense of individuality) of Jiva surrounded by the sixteen Kalas (rays). Then like the sphere of the sun which shines fully after the clouds disperse, Parabrahman alone shines. 7-It’s also interesting to note that the original text starts with the name of Rama, followed by Krishna. However, the order was reversed by Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu in the 15th century, who was primarily a Krishna devotee. 8-It’s interesting to note that some translations of the text will say something like, “There is no other means to liberation in any scriptures,” as opposed to what’s been given here: “No better means than this is to be seen in all the Vedas.”Personally, I prefer the less fundamentalist perspective that recognizes that there are many paths to the divine & there is no name of Ram in ved.. 10---Rama is primarily associated with the Sun, and the first syllable ‘Ra’ can be found in various languages representing the Sun. For instance, Ravi is one of the Sanskrit names for the Sun. Raghu is the solar dynasty or lineage that Rama belonged to, that traces its origins to the Sun.
11-The ancient Egyptian God Ra was their Sun god and a major deity in the ancient Egyptian religion. There are also the English words radiate, radiance, and ray (as in the Sun’s rays), further suggesting an etymological (the study of the history of words ) origin with the syllable ‘Ra.’ Another example is that ‘raw’ food is defined as food that has been ripened by the Sun. 12-It’s easy to limit the meaning of the name of Rama to the male Hindu God Rama who lived many thousands of years ago. But understanding this inner mystical meaning of invoking Light, makes the practice universal. 13-Also, when you take a deeper look at the qualities inherent in the two syllables, ‘Ra’ and‘Ma’, you’ll see that father and mother, the masculine and feminine, the Sun and Moon, exist in perfect androgynous balance. It’s this universal and androgynous quality that makes the name of Rama unique as a name of God, since God is described as Light and containing both masculine and feminine qualities. 15--Shiva as Reciting ‘Rama‘ The Ramcharitmanas also draws from the classic scriptures of India to validate the mystical power of Rama’s name. Here’s one such quote: “The scriptures maintain that Lord Shiva, the deity presiding over the holy city of Kashi (Varanasi), whispers into the right ear of every creature dying within its boundaries, the name ‘Rama’ and thereby brings emancipation to the dying soul.” 16-IT is uttered ----- “Ram Nam Satya Hai,” while carrying a dead body to the Manikarnika Ghat cremation grounds on the banks of the ganges river. This means, “The name of Ram is truth” in Hindi. At this time I wonder why they don’t chant the name of Shiva, since after all this is Shiva’s city. I realize that Shiva is considered Rama’s best devotee, and incessantly invokes His name for the benefit of others. 17-“The saints as well as the Puranas and the Upanishads too declare that the potency of the name ‘Rama’ is unlimited. The Immortal Lord Shiva, who is the fountain of joy and a storehouse of wisdom and goodness, incessantly repeats it. 18--The Holy Name of Rama is a wish-fulfilling tree, the source of blessedness in this Dark Age. By meditating on it, Tulsi was transformed into the devotee Tulsidas.' In his 'Ramacharitamanasa', Tulsidas tried his best to describe thoroughly the meaning, characteristics and nature of the Name. 'Even so, it is amazing ------how scholars, pundits and academics can still think that Ram Nam is simply 'Ram'.
19-Tulsidas describes the Name as being inexpressible, indescribable and languageless. God's Name is secret and easy to comprehend but unable to be uttered because it is not something which can be spoken in any language. It is beyond the senses. It can be remembered only by method of the soul.
20-Ram-Nam is the very foundation of creation. It makes the sun shine. It gives light to the moon and is the origin of fire. It is the primordial cause of the entire universe. It is eternal and all the scriptures glorify it. Not only Hindu scriptures, but any scripture which contains the teachings of a divine Master all eulogize a Name or Word which exists uniformly within all beings and pervades every atom of creation.
21-So it is omnipresent. It is not bound by space and time. God and His Name are one. There is no difference between the Name and the Named. The Named is experienced and known only through the Name. The True Name creates and sustains the universe. It is greater than both the manifested and unmanifest God, because it acts as an interpreter and allows both to be realized. It is within everyone.
22-It is the panacea for all ills. It is the wish-fulfilling tree which grants whatever is desired. It takes care of you in this world and the next. It alone has the power to eradicate the darkness of the Dark Age. That is why, in Tulsidas' opinion,Devotion to Lord Rama is a beautiful and shining crown jewel. 23-Through devotion the inner Self shines with Light Divine and the darkness of ignorance is destroyed. A person in whose heart the jewel of devotion shines is never unhappy, even in a dream. 23-1-The word mani is used again here for three reasons. Firstly, it is said that the possessor of the mani jewel never becomes poor. Secondly this jewel shines continually day and night. Similarly the person whose heart is a shrine of devotion will never suffer poverty.
23-2-Thirdly, poison can't have any effect on the possessor of this jewel. The Light of Knowledge shines like this jewel and the person who experiences it cannot be affected by the poison of maya. 24-'Irrespective of caste, kinship, lineage, piety (reverence for God), reputation, wealth, strength, accomplishments and abilities,a man lacking in devotion is worth no more than a cloud without rain.' 25-Than the Lord describes;
THE NINE STEPS OF DEVOTION ;-- 1-The first step is the company of saints.
2-The second is a fondness for hearing about Me.
3-Humble service to the feet of the Satguru is the third step.
4-While the fourth is singing My praises with a sincere and guileless heart.
5-The fifth step is remembering the Name with unwavering faith as told in VEDAS.
6-The sixth is control of the mind and senses and with contentment and even mindedness, desisting from the various temptations of the world.
7-The seventh is seeing the world to be nothing but Me and regarding the saints even greater than Me.
8-The eighth is regarding profit and loss with equal detachment, being contented with whatever you get, and not even dreaming of seeing another's faults. 9-The ninth is being straightforward and honest in one's dealings and relying on the Lord alone. Whoever has even one of these virtues is extremely dear to me, but, Bhilni, you are blessed with all nine.' 26-Our leaders regard casteism and parochialism as curse, and quite rightly so. God's laws apply equally to everyone, but due to wrong ideas of caste and religion, feehngs of separation and discrimination keep on growing and make people into mutual enemies.
27-Conferences are held to discuss caste eradication but will they be able to solve the problem, even though we all believe in one human race and the brotherhood of man? We should learn a lesson from the life of Shri Rama.
27-1-He went to Shabri's hut rather than all the high sages', ate the simple food she offered and showed her the greatest love and respect. The land which produced a scripture of the magnitude of the Ramayana is miserable! If people understood the message of the Ramayana and acted accordingly, not only this country but the whole world would enjoy the utmost happiness." 28-The name of the physical person who took birth as Dasaratha's son was Rama, but what is his real Name? What is the Name which is eternal and dwells in every being? Tulsidas wrote many couplets and verses glorifying the Name, so that readers would correctly understand its secret.
29-In some places it is called Ram Nam, in others, Mahamantra, Ulta Nam, or Pavan Nam. People think that 'Ram' is God's Name. Did Tulsidas so misjudge people that he didn't clearly write that the Holy Name is 'Ram' so meditate on that? Rama lived in Treta Age and only from that time did people start using the name 'Rama'. Krishna lived later in Dwapar, and only since then have people used 'Krishna', also an adjectival name, as the Name of God. Only since then have people worshipped statues of them.
30-But they don't consider that in Satyuga, before Rama and Krishna, people must have remembered a Holy Name. Which Name did Dhruva and Pimpled, who lived long before Rama, remember? The Ramayana says,'The Name's influence permeates the four Vedas and the four Ages, particularly Kali Age in which there is no other means of salvation.' 31-If the Name pervades the four Ages, do you think that it changes from Age to Age? We say that God is eternal and undifferentiated. So how can His Name change from time to time? But we don't know how to reason properly and practise whatever form of devotion takes our fancy. 32-Ram Nam means "the name Rama", which can imply either devotion to Rama, the avatar of Vishnu, or Brahman, the ultimate principle in Hinduism.
33- Rama's name is often chanted or sung within the many traditions of Hinduism. A popular mantra is Sri Ram Jai Ram Jai Jai Ram (often prefixed with "Om"), which was popularized in western India by Samarth Ramdas. 34-In Mahabharata, Shiva states that uttering "Rama" three times is equal to pronouncing the thousand other names of God.. "Ram Nam Satya Hai" (The name of Ram is truth) is commonly chanted by Hindus while carrying a dead body to the cremation ground in India, Nepal, Guyana, and southern Bhutan. This recitation implies that the dead body no longer sustains the truth (breath) which is Ram Nam. 35--install the shining jewel of the Holy Name on the threshold of your heart if you want light both inside and outside. The, Hindi word mani is used here. This is a fabled jewel which shines continuously, day and night. The Holy Name, too, shines all the time. Remembering the Name illuminates the inner lamp, which goes out when you stop meditating. 36-'Upon his return to Ayodhya, Lord Rama addressed his subjects thus: 'I will tell you a secret. Without Shiva-meditation a person cannot call himself My devotee. If a person ignores Shiva meditatation and yet wants to by My devotee, he is Simply ignorant and dimwitted' Actually, 'Shiva-meditation' means the meditation which Shiva himself practises.
THE KEY POINTS;-- 1- HOLY TRINITY; ALWAYS IN YOG MUDRA ; SHIVA MEDITATING IN SITTING POSTURE ; SRI HARI IN YOG NIDRA & SAME WITH BRAHMA ;ALL OF THEM HAVE THEIR EYES HALF OPENED; WHY ?
2-BECAUSE ALL OF THEM ATTACHED WITH NIRGUN BRAHAMAN ; ALWAYS WORSHIPPING 'OMKARAM. ONE THING MORE ; TRINITY MEAN ARDHANARISARA ; ALWAYS WITH CONSORT ... 3-VED & UPNISHAD RECITE THE GLORY OF NIRGUN BRAHAMAN ( OMKAR) & TRINITY. BOTH ARE THE TWO SIDES OF A COIN.....THE COMPLETE BRAHAMAN; WITHOUT DIVINE BODY/SHAKTI , SUPER SOUL IS IN ZERO STATE & TO REACH SUPERSOUL DIVINE BODY IS ESSENTIAL & THIS IS A A PROPER CHANNEL
4-IT IS VERY DIFFICULT FOR HUMAN BEINGS TO REACH ZERO STATE WITHOUT THE SUPPORT OF TRINITY.....WE ARE DIRECTLY CONNECTED WITH THEM ;AS SOUL we are connected WITH SUPER SOUL & AS TRIGUN we are connected WITH TRINITY .
5-THOSE SUPER HUMAN, ( MIND BORN) WHO HELP HUMANITY TO SUSTAIN; ARE CONSIDERED THE INCARNATION OF SRI HARI; AS RAM... THE LEGEND, THE PARAGON OF VIRTUES, AN EXAMPLE OF DUTIES... 6-NO NAME IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN OMKAR ; IF WE BREAK THE CHAIN OR INCREASE THE CHANNEL THEN IT WILL TAKE TIME..
..ALTHOUGH YOU WILL REACH THE GOAL BUT IN HOW MANY BIRTHS ?... .NOBODY KNOWS... RAM IS A DEVOUT OF MAHADEV & WHO ALWAYS LOVE & SUPPORT SRI HARI.....but SHANKER HIMSELF WORSHIP OMKARA..
7-SO THE MANTRA OF SIXTEEN WORDS IS UNIQUE BUT WITHOUT OMKAR; IT IS JUST LIKE A BODY WITHOUT HEAD. ALTHOUGH GOOD FOR CHANTING BUT TIME /BIRTH CONSUMING TO REACH THAT DESIRED ZERO STATE................. DIRECT CONNECTION OR DISTANT CONNECTION. ; ITS YOURS CHOICE ..
........SHIVOHAM........
