MEANING OFMUDRA;- 03 FACTS;- 1-Mudra is an ancient Sanskrit term meaning, "gesture." We use mudras in yoga to cultivate a greater sense of awareness to certain energetic fields within the subtle body. In other words, we can use them to help us meditate and open up our chakras. 2-In simple words, the chakras can be considered as small, spinning fans that send and receive energy. There are total 7 chakras in the human body. For optimum mind-body health, energy should flow through these chakras interruptedly. Blocked/ imbalanced chakras would bring physical as well as mental illness and disorders. 3-There are literally hundreds of mudras ;each with its own unique symbolism and placement of palms and fingertips. Many of us are already accustomed to Anjali Mudra ( "Namaste"), where the hands are positioned in a prayer in front of the heart. This mudra is used in the beginning of most yoga classes to invoke spirit and intention, or at the end to seal the practice. There's also the common Gyan Mudra ;the placement of index fingertips to thumbs, used in many meditation practices. MUDRA FOR THE ACTIVATION OF CHAKRAS (Pran Mudra);- Here are seven lesser-known mudras to give our seven chakras a little boost during MEDITATION. DHYANA MUDRA TO ACTIVATE SACRAL CHAKRA;- 07 FACTS;- 1-Dhyana mudra is a hand gesture used by yogis during meditation excercises to build and improve the ability to concentrate and heal. Both hands are placed on the lap, the right hand on top of the left one, palms facing upward. 2-In Buddhism, this mudra is dispalyed with the tips of the thumbs touching. This shape of a triangle represents the three jewels of Buddhism: Buddha, sangha (community) and dharma (teachings). The connection of the thumbs also represents the union of male and female principles present in every human being. 3-Dhyana mudra is sometimes also called yoga mudra or samadhi mudra. The person using this mudra during meditation is immersed in the limitless space, completely untouched by the outside world. The right hand symbolizes wisdom and awareness and the left one symbolizes the iillusion of existence. 5-It is believed that dhyana mudra was practiced by Sakyamuni during his meditation under the pipal tree before he achieved enlightenment. 6-In Buddhism, the dhyana mudra is sometimes performed with one hand only where only the left hand is placed in the lap, representing the female principle of sense and wisdom. 7-This is the most common mudra used in meditation because of the significance of its representation of a chalice or bowl.
