15 FACTS------- 1-Ganesha Chaturthi/Vinayaka Chaturthi is one of the most popular festivals in India which is the birthday of Lord Ganesha and also the most sacred day to Lord Ganesha and remedy a bad Ketu. It is observed on the fourth day of the bright fortnight.. 2-Devotees of Ganesha are known as 'Ganapatyas', and Ganesh Chaturthi (also known as Ganesha Chaturthi or Vinayaka Chaturthi) is the holy festival that celebrates His Glory through India by all Hindu's. 3-Vinayak Chaturthi is celebrated on the 4th day of the bright half of Bhadrapad...This festival is honored as the birthday of Sri Ganesh..Clay figures of Ganesha are made, and after being energized and transferring your karma to the clay, the statues are then immersed into sea and water bodies. 4-The 4th Moon phase falls every month twice called as “Chathurthi”. The Ganesha of 4th Moon on waning phase is called as Sri Sankata Hara Chathurthi and has the power to remove the biggest obstacles of our life. 5-Ganapati transcends all sects and views and is equally worshipped by both Saivites and Vaishnavas because Ganesh is viewed as an Incarnation of both Vishnu and Shiva. Ganesha is even worshipped and revered among Buddhists andJains. 6-Ganesh is the Ever-Blissful, elephant-headed deva (god) who is lovingly worshipped and revered by millions of people worldwide. 7-The son of Shiva and Parvati, Shree Ganesh, is the God of Good Luck and Auspiciousness and is the Dispeller of problems and obstacles. He is also worshipped as the God of wisdom, wealth, health, celibacy, fertility and happiness. 8-In the panchayatana puja, Ganesh is glorified as one of the five prime Hindu deities (Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva, Shakti and Ganesha) whose worship confers immortality and liberation. 9-Ganesha has two Siddhis (symbolically represented as wives or consorts): Siddhi (success) and Riddhi (prosperity). Wherever there is Ganesh, there is Success and Prosperity~ Wherever there is Success and Prosperity~ there is Sri Ganesh .10--Ganesha is also the destroyer of vanity, selfishness and pride. He is the personification of material universe in all its various magnificent manifestations. All Hindus worship Ganesha regardless of their sectarian belief, he is both the beginning of the religion and the meeting ground for all Hindus. 11-Ganesh means countless i.e. the splendid God. Who is splendid but can be only found by dedication i.e. through Bhawani (shardha). Bhawani means shardha (dedication) Ganesh was born from Bhawani not from Shankar. This way God can be found by shardha. 12-When a man is dedicated to God then only God appears. When God appears then Riddhi–Siddhi (Fame), Shubh–Labh (Gains) and Santosh(contentment) follows. Therefore, wife of Ganesh is known as Riddhi – Siddi, Son as Shubh – Labh. Riddhi – Siddhi,,,,,, Shubh – Labh are not male or female but these are indications of great sears. 13-What are the various indication of Ganesh’s idol’s body?. A-Huge Ears - God hears everyone B-Long Nose- No one is respectable other than Him (God) C-Small Eyes - He has far sightedness D-Bulky Stomach - He doesn’t want any thing from you as he is satisfied E-Black Mouse as a vehicle -The way Mouth or Tale of a Mouse keeps on moving, similarly mind is also very active. F-When a person surrenders his mind to God (becomes a seat of God) then he is rewarded (gets laddoo). G- In case a man doesn’t do so then he gets hindrances in his activities, which are the indications of Ankush and Nagpash which Ganesh carries in his two hands. 14-The following are some of Lord Ganesha’s most common Names: Sumukha, Ekadanta, Kapila, Gajakarnaka, Lambodara, Vighnaraja, Vinayaka, Dhoomraketu, Ganadhyaksha, Balachandra, Gajanana, Vakratunda, Surpakarna, Heramba, Skandapoorvaja, Siddhivinayaka, Vighneshwara. He is also known as Maha Ganapati. I5--THE KEY POINT--- A-Ganesha’s head symbolizes the Atma or the soul, which is the ultimate supreme reality of human existence, and his human body signifies Maya or the earthly existence of human beings. B-The elephant head denotes wisdom and its trunk represents OM, the sound symbol of cosmic reality. In his upper right hand Ganesha holds a goad, which helps him propel mankind forward on the eternal path and remove obstacles from the way. The noose in Ganesha’s left hand is a gentle implement to capture all difficulties. C-The broken tusk that Ganesha holds like a pen in his lower right hand is a symbol of sacrifice, which he broke for writing the Mahabharata. The rosary in his other hand suggests that the pursuit of knowledge should be continuous. The sweet he holds in his trunk indicates that one must discover the sweetness of the Atman. His fan-like ears convey that he is all ears to our petition. The snake that runs round his waist represents energy in all forms.
